Replacing APEXi air cleaner
since I can't search the site for my question, I figured I should post a message here. I need to replace my "dual funnel air cleaner Power Intake" or find a way to clean it. Any suggestions on cleaning it or where to go to find a replacement? I went to eautoworks.com and was very confused. They have a replacement filter, but they also have a "Power Intake". I'm not sure what I need and the box (all writing in Japanese) doesn't help either.
Thanks a bunch for your help.

NOT 2 SHABBY = NT2SHBBY (my NY license plates)
as for my knowledge on frankencars, I had previously asked this question on altimas.net awhile ago wondering how to clean the Apexi filter once my frankencar came in for the Altima...
Three separate guys confirmed the vaccumming deal so I assume them to be correct

It's simple to clean. You just don't clean it at all. It's a maintenance free filter, meaning you don't clean it. Direct quote from the APEXi USA web site:
The Power Intake is a maintenance-free dry-type air filter and will alleviate the problem of filter oil from "wet" air cleaners interfering with the air-flow meter.
Here is a link to the web site:
APEXi USA
It does not say anything about the lifetime of the filter. Although I have heard from various people that it lasts about 30K miles.
Hope this answers all your questions.

My next filter will be a K&N. I have a 2k so I don't have any MAF issues.

The entire filter needs to be replaced about every 30K depending upon conditions. And yes, that's a very expensive propostion indeed. But if you want the best, you have to be willing to pay for the best.
