Removing pinstripes
Hi all. Does anyone have any experience removing pinstripes? I recently bought a 2000 Maxima SE. It's white and has a black and grey pinstripe running down each side. The pinstripe is OK, but I think the white Max looks much better without it. (Someone else has the same car without the pinstripe where I work and I have to see it in the parking lot every day. ) I've read that you can take the stripe off with a little heat and some solvent such as Goo-Gone to take the excess glue off, but will this leave a discoloration or line in the paint where the stripe used to be? Thanks for any help you can give.

Go to a paint & body shop supply store and get a cork wheel. This removes glue, pin stripes and 2 faced tape (from name badges) and some paint prep remover (for any excess glue). On the faded paint, you might have some but it will be only in trhe clear coat of your paint anf can be buffed out.

It's Easy
I did it to my car, i got a 2000 max that i bought in november and all i used was a blowdryer to heat up the stripe and it came right off, then you have to use some sort of cleaner wax to get off the lines and your done. it took max of 30min
