RVM Lightened (stock diameter) pulley....

so the only option we have for lightened stock diameter pulleys is $245 from unorhodox racing.

RVM has proven their quality products with the lightened underdrive pulley.

i mentioned to them about making a lightened stock diameter pulley for the S/C and boomin system boys. his response was that he would be willing to fabricate one for us, given there was enough interest. estimated price for this lightened crank pully would be roughly ~$80. i just want some input. would anyone be down for gettin a stock diameter lightened pulley. as we've discussed before. 85% of a crank pulley's HP "gain" is through weight reduction.

RVM told me that if at least 50 people were interested and willing to give a deposit, they'd design one for us, and compared to unorthodox's $245 pulley and also RVM's reputation, i'm definitely interested in following up with something like this.

So if we can get a light pulley but stock size for boosted cars. Wouldn't that allow the pulley to spin faster so we get more boost? If that's the case then I'm in :-)

overall, it releases HP that was held back.

Could this 50 people include 4th gens. If so it would be
easier to hit 50 and I would be in for 2 of them!! I
suppose there would be no need to change belt sizes on
these also.

talking to RVM racing again, they said that if we would get enough interest and if people were able to give at least half deposit ($40), they would fabricate a pulley like this.
come on people...would you rather pay $245 with unorthodox or ~$80 with RVM. doesnt' take a genius to figure that out. i know there are more people interested.

as far as 4th gens go, well does anyone know if our crank pulley's are the same size. if it is, then wouldn't it/shouldn' it mount on perfect and if that is the case, we got ourselves a buncha more cars.

for all you audio guys and SC guys, i know you want something like this.
anywayz, this is just another bump. let this float in your head for a few days. we'll see if anyone else catches on.

it has just come to my attention that the 95-2k1's use the same pulley, therefore this is actually very doable with 4th/5th(2k and 2k1). i say someone get on the ball with this. if the 4th gen guys and the 5th gens guys got like 50 people together, RVM would fabricate this pulley for you. it looks like it'll be tougher for us 2k2-2k3 seeing as it would be hard to get that many people, but who knows. we'll see.

so for now we do this....if 95-2k1 cars can coem up with 50 people, RVM racing said they'll make a lightened stock pulley . if us 2k2-2k3 people came up with 50 people, they would do us a set as well. the only thing now, to come up with those people.
i plan on letting this list build up and then sending over the whole thread to RVM and from there, they will figure out their part and come back to us with a yes/no answer. for those that responded, please respond again and add your name to the list

Can they provide an estimated weight reduction for stock size?
What was the smaller dia weight reduction?

finally......

been lookin' for a deal like this! but looking at the thread, it doesn't look like there's nearly enough interest. i think you should move it to the GD forum. but anyway, i'll be in for a 2k2 6spd IF you could let me know about the deposit and everything (estimated time of deliver, etc.). oh by the way, this should not affect balancing in any way, right? i know it shouldn't, but i don't really know RVM's reputation that well. let me know!

n1cK!
