anyone use octane boosters?

i use only sunoco 94 in my 2K2 and i was wondering if using a octane booster or any type of fuel additive might help either performance or mileage or anything at all. mine is still basically new and i baby it too much i know.

Nissan's owners manual states that it is bad for the fuel system and engine.

All I know is, through past experiences, octane boosters are corrosive in that they eat away at the floatation device that is present in the gas tanks. This device is what controls the gas gauge needle that regulates how much gas your tank contains.

In the past the boosters would eat away at the device to the point at which you couldn't get an accurate reading as to how much gas you have.

So basically, I wouldn't use em

I don't think it would give you any performance gains anyway. The engine isn't made to handle higher octane levels and therefore wouldn't really benefit from it. It's a waste of money for the Max in my opinion.

Octane boosters are a good way to kill spark plugs.

Hrm I was wondering about this too, but thinking for just a day at the track, not all the time, it'd be cool to see if it made any difference on a dyno.

Sunoco 93 seems to work better in my 2k3 than 94.

Only if used in excessive amounts and very frequently. Every once in a while shouldn't pose any problems.
