Stage II HID upgrade

Where the best place to get Stage II HID upgrade bulbs?

What is the bulb "size"?

Is it truly a plug-n-play?

Any experiences would be appreciated...

I dont have Hids. But im not too sure about what these things are. I know that its an upgrage from ur current 4100K's on the 2K2, to 6000K which IMO looks sweet, like what ud seen on a bimmer. If its just a bulb replacement then thats sweet, but im not too sure if u have to upgrade the ballasts. The stock 1z and these both run at 35watts so I dont think u have to change the ballast, but U might want to call and confirm this to be 100% sure.

I think by going to a higher "K" bulb, you will actually loose light output, the extra blue tint will look pretty good though.

Actually guys...FYI

I had an HID retro kit in my old 02 Altima 2.5SL and I originally bought the kit from www.misterjung.com with 6000k bulbs.

Over the course of 6 months, one of the bulbs would take longer to warm up to it's whiteish blueish color so I sent em back to Misterjung for replacement under warranty. Well anyway I also wanted something bluer, didn't really care if there was some light loss due to the drop in lumens, so I went with the 7500k which turned out a bit too blue but just so you guys know, all I did was purchase the bulbs, ballasts were original and they worked fine, albeit a bit too blue and actually to answer the light loss, there was none actually due to the fact that they were bluer, the road actually lit up more!!

I find with my 03, the lights are bright but I dont like that "white" projection. I want something like the 3.2TL, 7000k....I'm going to purchase new D2R bulbs from Misterjung.com and I'll post pix

If in doubt, look on the headlight housing. They have the bulb type on it. Its D2R.

secondly, hids4less lists D2S as the replacement so i'm still confused...

hids4less looks like a totally b.s. site...I'd go with www.misterjung.com for D2R bulb replacements. He is cheapest around, warranties everything and has all bulb colors to choose

misterjung.com does seem to have better prices, but hids4less.com offers 5 year warranties on the bulbs. i'm not sure what type of bulbs are offered at misterjung's, but hids4less sells philips german made bulbs (not taiwan or whatever)

Thats the 1 thing I like about it. Germen made, besides a stage II upgrade to a 2k2-3 will look sick. I just want a purplish hue to the HID, and might as well get a kit for the fogs as well That would looks sooo sick. As long as it lights up the road as much as possible w/o blinding others its all good.

Bimmers run 4300k, but they have projector lenses that refract the light to make it look more blue than it really is.

Has anyone used the misterjung conversion kit on a 2k or 2k1 halogen housing? I was looking at his kit and wanted to know how the install went and and how the beam/output levels were in comparison to the OEM 2k2 HIDs.

If it helps, I had his kit on my 2002 Altima and the beams were perfect....

I'm not familiar with the 2k2 Altima. Was it an H3 Halogen housing? Did you need to upgrade any of the wiring or fuses?

H1 housing.....no upgrade of the wiring, well actually I can't say that...everything needed comes with the kit. I had a professional shop install it for me (I have 2 left hands).

The fuses need to be upgraded to 20 amp fuses. The kit itself is plug and play. One end connects to the existing bulb housing and the other end gets plugged into the ballast. It's relatively simple to connect; my problem came when I had to drill the hole bigger for the wiring to fit through the existing "dust covers" which I was in no way prepared to do myself, thats why I had a shop do it.

As for Misterjung, he's credible. I have his personal phone number and address for those who want it. Alan (Misterjung) is a great guy. He might not answer emails right away, but he does read them and does respond sooner or later.

Like I said, I have his personal number for whomever wants.
