Question about Bose CD changer

This may be a dumb question but I see that there is an option to have the CD or track title listed while the CD is playing. No matter what CD I put in it after a few second I get a No Title message after scrolling through the three choices: Title Off, CD Title, and Track Title. Is there some way to program the player to read this? These are not CD-R's I am putting in either they are CD's. Thanks.

My Bose CD changer is doing the same thing. We must be the only two since there were no replies. I'm waiting until the 7,500 mile service to have the dealer either fix it or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I don't think you can do it in WMPLAYER for those of you who have XP, but I know you can do it in Nero. When burning the audio cd, before you hit burn, there is an option to add CD Text to the cd which does the track names, and allows you to input the CD Title and Artist.

Yep.. and if you're using Easy CD Creator, the newer versions will stick the text in there automatically based on the filename or MP3 information. Not all burners can use CD-Text but most made in the past year or two can.

Most store-bought CDs I have don't have CD-text either

Thanks for the required info. I thought I was the only one having this problem.

Are there different kinds of CD-Text? I have taken a CD that I was listening to on my PC that displayed the CD title and track titles out to my Max that supposedly has CD-text. When I press the Bose button to display the CD and track text the display says "NO TITLE"

Just remember when you make a CD that it can only display 8 characters at a time. It will display mor, but you have to manually scroll it. It was a gee wiz feature that I used at first, but I don't make cd with text anymore because renaming all of the tracks to 8 letters is a pain in the butt.

Can you scroll the title on the Bose head unit? If so, how do you do it?

I have long been wondering how to display more than 8 characters, since most song/cd titles are more than 8. I first hoped that it would automatically scroll, then it didn't and I wondered who designed the damn thing, since it's almost useless with just 8 characters...

Thanks,

- Seth

Sorry for the long reply!! What i'll do is use windows media player and let it download the song titles and all that and then i'll take the music and copy it onto my hard drive, then i just use my nero program and it copies the name onto the cd's. Some cd's these days have it but not all.
