I was wondering how good is the avertised 26 MPG gas mileage for the Maxima 2003's. I just got a GLE but its still in breakin mode with very few miles. It's hard to beleive it can obtain the 26 MPG with the larger engine. My 1994 Max GLX did obtain the 26MPG, but had the smaller V6.

And yes, I get anywhere from 18 to 30 mpg depending on the kind of driving. The slip below is for mixed highway and city:

 

I have gotten a maximum of 31.1 MPG on the way back from Kansas (heading to GA). Usually is 19.5-21.5 in town and for longer in state trips, 24.5-26 MPG. Overall ,I am quite pleased considering it is an automatic transmission and Atlanta traffic sucks goat *****.
