I finally got a chance to take a couple pics of my new painted front grill. Let me what you think.

That was the best thing about this mod, it was free
There are three bolt that hold it on, its real easy to get off. There is a bodyshop at the dealer I work at and the painter is a friend of mine, so he did it for free.

where are the 3 bolts exactly? I want to get mine painted when I get the body shop to take the dent out of the passenger door but body shops around here are so use to dealing with accords they probably wouldn't know how to take the grill out to paint it.

How well did the paint match? Would the Nissan dealership sell the paint? I'm just afraid over time it will fade differently that the rest of the car.

Its real easy, there are three 10mm bolts across the top that come out
then tug on the bottom, the center Nissan emblem then pops out.
As far as the paint match, its is perfect, I gave the bodyshop
my paint code so its a perfect match. So far I have had no problems
with chips or flaking and it has been painted for three months now.

paint will definitely fade, without a doubt. Plastic fades MUCH quicker than steel, so expect to see it fade over the years, especially with a dark color like majestic blue.

Although, to retard some of the fading, you might want to add that as a part to wax, once the time comes.

Looks Great!!

I was wanting to do that to my black 2K2 and was looking for pics of a painted grille on a dark color. I'll certainly look into having a local body shop paint mine!! Thanks for the pic!!

It looks great. My only worries would be about the rock chips and the crappy nissan paint. Atleast with Chrome, it doesn't chip.
