PICS for those of you who care

Here are some pics of my blue keyring. I now know that I am not the first, but here are the pics regardless. Enjoy.

that definately looks phat. Is it hard to do that? And is it just a wedge bulb or is it an LED?

i used an LED, not hard at all. I just used a resistor. Since you are a donating member. just search, I posted something about this a while ago, and in there i talk about how to do it.

HERE YOU GO

Here is what i posted a while ago. I listed the size resistor that you will need(you might have to do a little reading ). But after you get the led and the resistor. then just wire the resistor to the led and then clip off the stock bulb socket(make sure to leave a pig tail incase you want to return it to stock). then wire ground to ground and pos. to pos. very simple. I soldered mine. Just read through that post and i will answer any other questions you have. The only problem is that my keyring light stays on for a while after i leave the car. I have a good idea on how to fix this, but it is more work than it is worth if you know what i mean. So i just left it. no big deal. hope this helps

Check out the homepage. Mentions a blacklight presumably just to make the phone holder, etc. stand out. Kind of like the back room of old Spencer's Gifts stores.

Thanks dude

Seems like a simple project, but how do you get to the stock bulb? This may be answered when I take a look at it tonight, but I'm not sure how to pop it apart.

Also, in the other post you mentioned that your light is on all the time while driving. Is that still the case? If so, I think that might be cool. This mod is awesome...thanks again for the info.

There are three screws underneath the steering column. once you get those out, just squeeze the upper and lower pieces along the seam. they should pop apart. after that you are own your own for getting them out of the way. i had to finagle the hell out of mine. just be carefull not to break it. then just pull of the difuser, and there you go

Excellent. I should be ok but I love to get instructions first. Makes things much easier.

Oh, one more question. How many MCDs was the LED you used? I changed out my security LED with a radio shack one and the brighter blue one (1100 MCDs) was more of a pale blue than the deep blue of the 300 MCD one. I decided to go with the deeper blue, dimmer LED.

Thanks.

Don't really need LEDs

I just used Glass Paint, and painted my Stock bulb Blue.

Simple job ... took 15 min total to get the keyring blue.
