I was thinking of trying that, it should be but make sure you let off the gas when you shift. Or don't you have too?

faster when you manual shift your auto? yes...the shift point for the car to shift itself is max at 6000rpm. manual shift will bring ur rpm a bit higher.

It is bad for my tranny?
oh yea...high RPM shift is bad for auto, period.

remember, auto tranny responds to shifting by electric signal. It still takes a bit of time for it to respond to your command.

manual shifting an auto will kill your tranny, but its no where near as bad as revving up on neutral and then dropping to drive

Manually shifting definitely makes your car quicker, at least mine, ¼ mile tested.
