ECU update
ECU update
Thrilled to see a TSB on the hesitaton problem. Stopped by the dealer today with the TSB in hand. Suprise, they did not hear about it! A tech ran the Consult II to my ECM and my wishes came true. I have the 5Y700 ECM. Not only do I get the update, but a new MAS too. I will update with the results when the MAS arrives from backorder.
I would love to shove that TSB down the throat of every service mgr or tech who has stated that "There's nothing wrong", "That's normal", "Must be your driving", or "Do you know how to drive stick". I'm sure we have heard it all. Some of us have lived with it for over a year now, and I know of one owner trading in after two months of frustration.

I am in total agreeement with you, I had my car in five separate times and have documented months of phone calls with Nissan NA customer service. When your car is the only one "We can't duplicate the problem". Once you show them others are having the identical problem, they say "Oh, that's normal, since others do it".
Man what a frustrating experience but finally they seem to be doing something about it!
Mine goes in this Tuesday for the MAF replacement and reprogramming.

Car was made in Oct of 2001, no HLSD. The service manager called me tonite to schedule an appointment for the work. He talked to a regional rep who stated that the update only applies to 2002s made in 2001 and early 2002. Didn't know the cutoff date. Those made after the cutoff are fine. Could be blowing smoke.

He is blowing smoke. The TSB specifically targets all 2002 and 2003 Maximas and Altimas with MT.
