Seeing Dealer Today - 6 CD head unit
Seeing Dealer Today - 6 CD head unit
hey everyone,
I am going to see the dealer today in having them fix the head unit of my Bose 6 CD changer. My problem is that the driver's side speaker phases in and out and sounds very fuzzy at random times. It seems bumps in the road cause the driver's side speaker to either work normal or act weird.
Just curious for those who also had this problem, does the dealer have to replace the head unit or will they attempt to fix the original? Any help would be appreciated since I am going to see the dealer today.
Thanks,

Ummm - you could always go to another dealer! If they said something like that to me I'd walk out and never return. They can go eff themselves.

Thanks everyone!
I am going to use the above info when I see the dealer as well....
I hope they won't make this a major headache for me...I just want them to fix it but I have heard so many horror stories in this forum about how dealers will mess up their stereo systems even worse when trying to fix it...

Re: Seeing Dealer Today - 6 CD head unit
hey guys, i have the same problem. i thought it was the cd's, but they work fine at home. i bought a CD laser cleaner, but the problem still persisted. when i have the radio on all the speakers work fine. when i play CD's, the driver's side speakers sound distorted and muffled. i went to my local dealer and they just ordered another HU for me. it'll be in sometime next week. if its still under the warranty, they should still replace it... good luck, i'll let you guys know how my switch turns out.
Mine does it too but it only happens when I get on the throtle and only with cds I think the vibration from my exhaust tweeks the connection till I give it a whack then it's fine. Just dont hit it too hard I recently read about someone breaking theirs doing the same thing don't waste your money at the stealership just give it a firm but not hard whack and it will go back to normal.
playing just the radio it is fine its when you play a cd thats when it happens. If it still doesnt give it time it will I promise you.
The dealer isn't going to do anything, no matter what dealer you go to. They will tell you they can order you a new head unit, and tell you the rediculous amount of money that it will cost you. I know a lot of people have been able to solve their head unit issues thanks to this fix: http://www.shiftice.com/bose_cutout_fix.html
how are posts #13/14 recent but 15-18 are from 03...
then 19-21 are recent... very odd.
But yes... the Bose are known to act oddly...
thus why I use a tape deck adapter + iPod
Never had an issue
