Re: Re: MORE INSIGHT

All legit questions, and I will try my best to answer them. Before I begin I would like to express that I have nothing to gain out of this rather than an AE kit for our 3.5's. I have been wanting one for the longest time.

Dohcser, I would like to ask a couple questions before continuing with this deal.
-Can you post a pic of what the fiberglass front lip will look like since you said that the design will have approx. 60% of the original STILLEN design dur to trademarks/copyrights.

Answer: Since they have not started working on the kit a pic cannot be posted, however I did express to them that the reason for many people wanting the AE lip is for it's subtle and almost looks as if it came with the car, NOTHING RICEY.

-If a prototype front lip is made will the fitment be nice and flush with the front bumper, foglights etc???

Answer: They have assured me that this will fit nice and snug, this is what thier company is based on.

-Who and Where is this company based at???

Answer: This company is based out of UPSTATE NY.

-Can we get sometype of contract if I or fellow Org. memebers were to make a $50 deposit???

Answer: You hit the nail on the head with this question. I wanted to get a consesus on how the org felt about the $50. I too will be in the same boat. With that said I will also want a commitment date.

-Why won't the $50 deposit be refundable??? I just don't want some BS about they ran into some problems trying to fabricate one etc. and I'm now out of $50 thats was non-refundable.

Answer: They don't want the $50 to be refundable because, lets say during the 7 weeks it takes to make the kit, some other company does come out with a lip, they people will start cancelling their orders and it will not be a profit for this company. I will express to them that we want in writing that a lip will absolutetly be made, if for what ever reason one is not then we get our money back. How does that sound?

-What will the final price be shipped???

Answer: Didn't ask! I will find out!

Sorry for all the questions. But I and maybe other Org. memebers would like to know before proceding on with this. Thanks in advance.
The answer to the questions are included above in the quote.

We need to start a new list. For the people that is willing to put the $50 Non-refundable down please continue the list below:

Dohcer,
Thanks for anwering my questions. I appreciate it. I am interested in the AERO fiberglass front lip(I too have been waiting for a clean/subtle front lip for me 2003) But before I fully commit to putting down a $50 deposit I would like some sort of contract like I had stated above in writing also a final price quote shipped. Dohcser, will you be handling all deposits??? Or will we have to send them out to the company in upstate NY??? Sorry for all the questions again. Thanks in advance.

I am hoping that the company will take the deposits directly, they did express to me that they have a business account with Paypal and on a $50 transaction Paypal will take about $8 from it. I am going to ask him if we can send checks directly to him. When it comes to money and me being a middle man, I don't like it. If for what ever reason the deal falls through (I really think it will not) I don't want to have a bad reputation on the ORG. Hope you all understand.

I would be more comfortable paying through paypal. No offense, but it's a pretty easy scenario to get scammed here.

I'd also like some relavant information about the company before I go shelling out my cash. There needs to be some accountability here.

I would like more info before making a deposit. Like a contract like I had stated before, the companies phone number,at least something so that I and other Org. memebers will feel more comfortable. Also a final price shipped.

No problem! I will be calling the company today, once I have all the info I will be providing you all the phone number and the other info requested. In the mean time could I get an updated consesus on who is willing to put a $50 NON-Refundable down. So far I have the following.

1. DOHCSER
2. Tary44
3. Killer2002SE
4. Mattattax

I shouldn't be on this list unless there is some type of due date the product MUST be in my hands by and some paperwork to protect me from getting scammed out of $50. With these things in place and only with these things in place am I 100% in and on the list.
Thanks

All,
I will take to the company today to get an ET as to when the product will be available, also a written confirmation that we will get a product. Remember that I am in the same boat and I also have to make a $50 deposite. I will not want to be scammed either. My question is: once we get some sort of date and contract who will be interested?

I'll be interested once the following is available:
-A written contract stating that the front lip is going to be fabricated Also a diclaimer stating if they do run into problems fabricating the front lip that all $50.00 deposits will be refunded.
-Final price shipped.
-Comapany name, phone number, and the person who you've been talking to.
-ETA date.
-Other Misc. Info.
Once this info is available. I'll be seriously interested. But for now all you have is "sparked interest" from me.

UPDATE

Ok here we go!
This company has no problem writing out a contract for us stating that they will start making the lip once they get $50 deposite for at least 15 orders. The money will only be refundable if this company decides not to continue with the project (BACKING OUT). He will be sending this to me in writing tonight and I will post it on the forum, along with all of the contact info.

As far as a date, once they do get the 15 orders with the $50 deposite, we can expect the lip within 6 to 8 weeks of that date. He also said that we will be able to see preliminary pictures about 2 to 3 weeks after the last order is received.

As far as shipping he notified me it will cost approximately $40.

We can make a few minor suggestions to them for making this kit, my first one is to make it about 1" wider from top to bottom. What do you all think?

i think you should keep the kit to factory spects considering some of us have lowered our car and if the kit hangs an inch lower it will scrape for us. Plus keep in mind it is made of fiberglass which can crack easily.

...Dohcser!! the following statement is not meant to lessen your character or to mess up what you have going. This is only MY opinion...

Since I got my car about a yr+ ago there's been so many threads about kits for the 2K2+ Max. So far knowone has follow through with one, so it is very hard to take this serious. I'm sure you nor the company you are working with is out to take our money, but I am like most people that don't want to put money down on a promise. I am more than ready to buy a kit but I would rather see the finish product before I sign on the dotted line.

Good luck dude...

Will it be included in the contract that the lip must be done by ten weeks or so or we get our money back?
Thanks

Now how would they be able to provide a picture if they have not started working on this? Do you all know of another way to work around this?

People could you please respond if you are interested in the lip with the situation given?

I will try. He did assure me that it will be very close to the original AE lip. I too share your concern, however since this in one of the only manufacturer that is actually interested in making such a long awaited product for us, I am more than happy to oblige. Thats just me!

How about a sketch of the "Buddy Club 2" Fiberglass frontlip on a 2002 maxima and/or Photoshop like Chinkzilla stated.

How about this, now that you all have their contact as you requseted, call them directly and ask them if it is possible to provide a sketch. In the mean time if there is anyone else that is ready to sign up, please do so in the Group Buy forum. Thanks!

Dohcser, I gave them a call today just so I could get some detailed info (EX: a fax of the sketch and contract) regarding the replica AERO front lip. Here's what I got:

- The person I talked to didn't know who Owen was
- Even though the person who I was talking on the phone with didn't know who Owen was I still proceeded to ask info regarding about the "Buddy Club 2 front lip for 2002-2003 maximas. He didn't know what I was talking about.

Give or take the person on the phone was a "newbie" or something. I was wondering if you can provide us with a sketch of what the front lip would look like. Thanks in advance. I'll give them a call again tomorrow.(hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about)

That is very unusual. Well as far as what it will look like, he said it will look similar to the original (2000-01) kit. I will also give him a call this morning.
