The stock ride was ALOT stiffer. You saw my suspension last night, very floaty. I just want to make sure nothing is wrong

I am on Tokicos and H&R and the ride is smoother than stock but still bouncey. Mainly just the front end, over dips int the road. The float at highway speeds is pretty much gone.

I wouldn't say soft? What kinda rims & tires you runnin? My ride is actually kinda stiff and bumpy meaning you feel almost everything on the damn road but its really not that bad I've experienced a hell of a lot worse .........bouncy...... you should ride in a car with cut stock springs and see what bouncy really means!

Cut springs make for a bouncy ride alright, but I dont think anything compares to a car with air cylinders.

That is why I stayed away from Tokicos. I wasted my money on them a while back. I used to have them on my 95 SE and they just pretty much sucked. Car was very bouncy with them.

I installed H&Rs on stock shocks on my current car and the ride is great no bouncing. Looks and handles great.

I am not sure if there are other shocks available, AGX or Konis, for 5gen Max.

Yes I cut my bump stops and air really isnt that bad. If you're low it can be bumpy, but if you raise up, its considerably smoother than any spring/strut combo. It's actually smoother than stock too. And my sprints will still own.

Marks ride has bags in the front which are considerably smoother the the cylinders in the back. If he had air cylinders on all 4 and drove slammed, hed need a chiropractor in a week or so. Ur right though when its raised up its alot smoother, like riding on...well air. All I know is mine is gonna be real bumpy for the first 3days til the springs settle.

My Eibach's and Tokico's are good. Not bouncy at all and pretty firm. Bump stops were trimmed. Hits potholes and RR tracks pretty hard unless I see them and slow a little. Overall I'm very satisfied.

With the new springs & shocks (Tokico), does an alignment needed? I was told that it is not necessary if the shocks are not adjustable.

Just got mine installed an hour ago (H&R and Tokico shocks). The car track just fine w/no alignment, so far. The mechanic (my friend's brother), who installed mine told me that an alignment is not necessary if the shocks are not adjustable? Anyway, the ride is not as stiff as I thought. The drop was very nice!

OMG!...everyone knows that h&r's ride like stock springs..lol...i would say go with COILOVERS or some stiff springs like teins.....a stiff ride is a must when your lowered...its GREAT.....

I like the ride, as is, actually. My car can handle much stiffer springs since I had the SFC's, which significantly stiffen the chassis. I can't drop too low due to the SFC's members.

Everyone also knows whenever you change your suspension (springs or struts) you need to get your car aligned! Even with coilovers, if you change the height of the vehicle you have to get your car aligned again. This would be the right thing to do if you wanted to have an even amount of wear on your tires, but if you are running stock tires I would say wear away!

4 some reason the few places ive asked about this say the car wont be able to be properly aligned once its dropped. The guy said we can make the alignment better but not perfect, I dont really see the reason to this but oh well. Im most probably not gonna get an alignment when I drop mine due to the fact im gonna have the suspension on the car for apprx 2months, then ill just transfer it over to the 03 and ill waste no til gettin that aligned.

Depends all on what u mean by "better" Comfort wise its gonna be stiffer, but handling wise its obviously gonna be alot better then stock. I would still suggest u get it aligned, it will pay for itself by giving your tires a longer life, but as stated be4 if ur on stock tires who cares but after a point ur gonna 4get about it and never do it, so might as well just get the thing aligned and get it over with. Pick up a RSB with that as well. Install prices are around the $150 mark I belive.

hmmm...I prolly will get the alignment check in a couple of weeks (waiting the for springs to settle). So far, the car run very smooth...smoother than before w/no pull to the left/right. Everything is tight. Anyhow, how much does an alignment cost? I am assuming it will only be for the front end, not the rear since it's not an independent setup.

I never did find a place that would align my car. I think it fixed it on its own or somethin, cuz its dead on right now and I dont have any weird tire wear going on.
