Merlot Magic

Hey guys, I've been in the shadows for some weeks now and I just want to tell you that today is a great day! I just bought a 2003 MERLOT SE TITANIUM PKG BABY! I had a 2001 SE but it had no options and the gray got kinda dull on me quick. Actually I owned a green 1998 SE. it was beautiful but I traveled 100 miles daily for work and I knew she'd die on me soon. Well I didn't wanna pay for her with so many miles on her so I traded her in(after I changed job locations). People keep asking why I only drive maximas, I just smile as I explain about the power, the handling the looks, etc. You know the rest! This car I just bought is a show stopper! The black leather, the bose 6 cd system, the sunroof, the titanium wheels and that merlot paint job. Whew! It's a driver's dream! I'm creating errands to run. Shoot, I'm about to drive to the mail box. LOL. Also, I was such a fan of this generation's styling I wanted to have this beauty before the 2004s took over. I really don't like the grill too much. One question. Synthetic oil or not?

Congrats on the purchase!!

About your question, I don't know, I'm gonna switch to synthetic on my next oil change but I gotta question for you:

Auto or 6 speed?

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the .org.

Regarding oil vs. synthetic: seems like the general consensus is to stick with regular oil until around 10K miles, and then make the switch. The VQ35 needs some time to fully break in, so you want to use dino oil in that timeframe. This is my plan as well.
