Spark Plugs?

Last week I had my car Dyno'd and they recommended that I buy different plugs for the car. They said that my graph would smooth out and I may pick up an extra couple of HP. I thought the NGK's were good in our Max's. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

the ngk platniums are good plugs but are expensive. as long they arent on their last leg then they should be fine for running NA. you could swap them out to coppers, they are a better conducter but running NA you will wont see any power gains that i know of.

Platinum is a not really a good metal. I'm in school right andI don't have my papers about the Iridium plugs. I'm running Denso Iridiums in mine and they give around estimated 7 extra HP since they have a smaller tip (0.4mm) using les electricity and producing a larger flame kernal. Iridium also has a high melting point. I'll tell you later when I get back home.

Peace

7hp gains are possible, remember the Spitfires Seriously, any hp would be a plus, but I'd definately like the best spark plugs.

if you dont mind changing them or having them changed ever 25k, then id go with the ngk coppers. they are around 1.50 a piece. they obviously dont last as long as platniums do, but better spark and much cheaper in the short run and long run. dont have any experience with iridiums but im having trouble seeing them make 7hp. maybe they dynoed a car with 100k and original plugs then put them in and saw a 7hp gain, thats possible.

NGK make Iridium IX plugs. NGK claims they last longer then platinums and provide all the benefits of iridium plugs. they cost $8-$9 each.

huh, how many miles do you have on your car? I thought that 5th gens produced smooth dyno's and I thought that the stock plugs were great plugs

FYI, the NGK Iridiums use a 6mm diameter electrode vs the Denso 4mm diameter electrode. According to NGK, there is no significant performance difference between their plugs and the Densos but the larger electrodes in the NGKs allows them to hold up better and last longer. Here's the NGK write-up if you're interested:
