Saw 2K1 Maxima AE for sale..

on a dealer lot. They wanted 15k and it had 30k for miles. Is this a steal or what? I was going to drop my car off and get this one!

It was at a big dealership. Not Bill's Used Cars or something. It was a Chevy dealer though not a Nissan.

The color was Merlot and it was a 5-speed. It also had
leather.

just because its from a big name dealer doesnt mean much, my 2k1 which isent an AE, was around 19,900 when i got it, fully loaded to the max with leather and everything, and only 23,900 miles..so i dunno, sounds a lil fishy
just be careful what u do

I would want to find out about the history of the car. Have it checked by in independent mechanic. Could be a great deal or a gotcha. IMO

I don't think it sounds fishy at all... especially at a Chevy dealer, where they wouldn't be adding a premium. I just bought my 2k1 AE (loaded with everything, including side airbags and auto climate) at a Nissan Dealer here in Canada, and paid the equivelant of:

$24,900 CDN = $16,900 USD
54,000 KM = 33,000 Miles

So mine, if I had bought it in the USA, would have cost me $16,900 with 33k miles on it... and this was from a Nissan Dealer...

Cheers,

Scott

Buy it

Do a carfax and if it's clean, buy it. I would.

Cars in Canada are a little cheaper. You can't compare 1:1.

Particularly the AE which, IIRC, did not have the body kit in Canada, thus not having that additional cost in the picture.

33,000 miles is a lot of miles for a 2 year old car

I can't believe the rate of depreciation on our cars

Oh well - it wasn't meant to be an investment anyways - but it still hurts once in a while

I'd be asking where they got the car. If it came in on a trade, you'd think the person who traded it in would have known that his car was worth more than the $13K or so they probably gave him for a car that they're stickering at $15K.
