Dynoe'd a 2k2 Altima today, with headers....

Here's the deal, 2k2 Altima, auto, Hotshot headers, jet ECU upgrade (worthless), Stillen cat back, and we tryed 3 different intakes. The bestit did was with the stock airbox, and an R&M intake pipe, and a K&N drop in. It did 234hp and 240tq Through an AUTO!! With the Frankencar, it did 226hp, and bone stock airbox with K&N drop in, it did 223hp. These were prototype headers, and I can't wait to see them on a 6-spd Maxima, might have done 250 with a stick. I will post the graphs tomorrow, I forgot to email them to myself. Oh and for the record, he did 205hp before the headers, and with all the other mods listed.

Those are some crazy numbers (234 hp, 240tq). Wow!

I heard $600.00 for a set, that's a little steep for me right now They should be out very soon, keep an eye on Hotshot performance.

Wow good numbers. The computer could have been going screwy with the intake swaps. This would explain the low FrankenCar Intake numbers.

I want one and now!

That is great. What did they do about the 02 sensors though aft of the precats? Did the ECU throw a CEL?

I had no plans to mod my Maxima. HOWEVER, if these HP numbers are true, I'm gonna have a change in plans.

I don't know when they will be available, but I would guess very soon. This guy has had them on his car for a while now. And the car was definately louder, but it sounded good. About the rear O2's.....there's not much you can do about those, he had his zip tied to the bottom of his car, because there are no precats it will throw an SES light right away. I think someone needs to make O2 sims for the Maxima/Altima.

Big deal peak numbers. Don't get all excited. Lets see the graphs. And SAE corrected with back to back runs with a 5spd or 6spd max same day same machine.

What are the track times?

I would say 30 more peak whp is a pretty big deal

What was the dyno of that particular car stock on that dyno? How about spikes? How does it compare directly to 5spd or 6spd? Were the numbers corrected? What type of dyno? Rims? Track times? etc..

Those are fantastic numbers, but a lot of you guys should hold on to your money a little tighter until you see these same results reproduced on other cars. I am a bit skeptical of him picking up 30-rwhp with just the header change. LS1's don't gain that much with bolt-ons and a cam when they add LT's.
I'm not saying it isn't something to be excited about, but don't go handing your money over before you see other cars being able to produce similar numbers.

O2-sims should be easy enough to come up with.

the big part of the gain come from the y pipe that removes both precats or at least thats what I assume.

These are PROTOTYPES guys...

That could be a good or bad thing, but I'm optimistic.

BTW, it's 3.5SE Auto from the sticky.

These headers also included a high flow cat, for what thats worth. The altima guy was also talking about extending the o2 sensors and putting them after the cat. Would this work?

Can someone please tell me what an R&M intake pipe is?

This is the question we need to answer. These headers are for the Altima. A maxima guy was supposed to go to Hotshot to get headers fitted for the max. Does anybody know if this guy has brought his car in yet. If he hasn't, maybe we need a replacement.

BTW,

no one's answered my question yet. Are the OEM Y-pipes for the maxima and altima the same part #?

I think this guy also had a cat-back, CAI and UD pulley. so it's more in the neighborhood of 20 whp.. still pretty impressive!

removed both precats. hmm... that means this is an afermarket exhaust manifold?

i hope they don't make the same mistake as what WSP did with their ypipe.

Yes it works. I have had mine after the cat and no precats for almost a year now, no SES light.
