Pacesetter Sts Problems...

I get a physical and audible pop when I shift out of 1st and out of 3rd...anybody else have this?
Is it loose?

Does it sound like it banging something under the card? Might be hitting the heat shield..

It's not a banging noise. I feel it click when I shift down.

Are you referring to the "notchy" feel of the shifter - i.e. you can feel it go through the gates?

There is a definite feel as the shifter goes into gear. I guess you could call it a click. Is that what you feel?

You may want to check the linkage under the car and make sure all of the bolts are tight.

The only other thing I can think of is that the screw holding the ball to the rod has allowed it to come loose and that is somehow causing the sound/feel.

My guess is that it's the ball popping a bit.
