it's located on your dash right side of the front windshield vents. you'll see a round sensor.

How can the "outside" temp gauge be mounted on the dash? Wouldn't that make it the inside temp guage for the ACC? Good question, I've wondered the same thing.

I do not know where the outside temp sensor is but I do know that that little round sensor on the drivers side is the light sensor. This controls when the automatic headlight turn on and off.

temp/light sensors

The little round thing on the left (driver's side) of the defroster vents is the light sensor for the auto headlights.
The similar-looking round thing on the right is a light sensor for the automatic a/c, which causes it to supply extra cooling in bright sunlight.

You can read this much in the owner's manual.

The outside temp sensor is a small black plastic part located in front of the a/c condenser, on the passenger side down near the front frame cross-member.

imjd is correct. Here's a pic. Find the caption "sensor wire mounted".

Quote from the Nissan Service Manual -The ambient sensor is attached to the radiator core support. It detects ambient temperature and converts it into a resistance value which is then input to A/C auto amp. and board computer.

On my 02 it is a yellow item right beneath where the hood latches right near the horn.
