Big Problem!!!!!!!

Wuz up everybody. I just got my 2000 Sterling Mist SE automatic Last month at Manheim dealer auto auctions in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Boy can you get some good deals up there. I got my max with 45,810 miles on it just coming of of a lease from some lady who owned it and my friend who is a dealer got it for me for 12,460. It already passed inspection and i had to get the rotors turned. About a month ago i got all of the fluids changed and the oil. Since this past month, i have been "balling" or pushing my max on the weekends. Two days ago the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Does any one know what the problem could be? Am i driving too fast? Please dont tell me my transmission is messed up. But i do still have the powertrain warranty. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST BUT ANYONE WHO HAS ANY INFO PLEASE WRITE BACK IMMEDIATELY. I AM DEBATING WHETHER I SHOULD LET NISSAN LOOK AT IT OR A MECHANIC
THANKS!!!!

You need to post this in the 5th gen forums area, not the FOR SALE forum. No one here is going to help, because everyone looking here is looking to sell or buy items not fix problems. Post in the 5th gen or general forums and you should get some help.

My advise is if you havent done anything to the car, let nissan look at it.

Well the dealer is prob gonna nail you a few buck for something that is so simple. Your computer probably needs to be reprogrammed. Just had mine done and light has not come back on yet.. Why is that little light so freaking annoying anyways?????

Go to AutoZone and have the code pulled for free. They'll tell you what's wrong. Then have them reset it and see if it comes back.

I don't mean to laugh but whenever the dealer asks if my gas cap is on tight, it cracks me up sometimes when I tell them my SES (Service Engine Soon) light is on, and in my mind I'm like sarcastically "no, I like driving w/ my gas cap loose!"

But really, you may want to doublecheck the gas cap to see if its on there nice and tight, if it isn't, tighten it and after a few fill=ups, the SES light should turn off by itself. However if the gas cap is on nice and tight then it's very likely something else is wrong. Dealer will charge $100 to find out whats causing the SES light to illuminate. Autozone will diagnose it for free

Btw is your Service Engine Soon light a steady on or does it blink when you drive? If blinking that's something that needs immediate attention.
