Tire size question

Is there any benefit to having 17x7.5 in front and 17x8 on the rears? Just wondering.

What I would do is put the wider on the front (since the max is front wheel drive) for better traction and better take offs because the tires have more rubber touching the ground. Or just put 17 x 8 all around.

It'll look ugly as hell if you do it on the front. It'll look ricey as hell if you put the wider one on the rear.

Yes, especially on the Maxima. The rear wheel already gets swallowed by the fender. Also, most mismatched wheel sets generally have a deeper lip on the wider wheel.

I think u should get 13"x5" int the front and some 16x12's in the rear with some fat slicks on em. But in all honesty just get 8 or 8.5" all the way around, there is no benefit to what you are suggesting and all that its gonna do is make you pay a bit more for your rear tires.

I think you will experience more understeer during hard cornering if you put wider tires on a FWD car like our Maxima. The wheel bearings will also experience more stress and wear out faster.

Yeah, different sizes also mean no rotating, that's not good either. Even sizes work just fine. 245 is plenty wide anyway, especially on a FWD car.

How about 10 inch wide like a lambro . Just kiddin. It wouldn't look right on a 5th gen if you could do it anyway.
