Rear light cover. Can GXE and SE be switched?

I have a black 03' GXE with those euro looking chrome rimmed tail light brackets. Can I get a pair of the black 03' SE rear tail light brackets and put them on my GXE? Since they're black, I thought they would look a lot nicer than the chrome rimmed. Any idea how much something like that would cost?

Aren't the '02-'03 SE tails the same chromed/clear look? Are you referring to a 2k-2k1 SE tail? In either case, yes, they do swap out, but double check on the parts you want before ordering.

I would check with DaveB on pricing.

the 03 SEs have the same tail lights as your 03 GXE. i put a pair of 01 SE tails (the black ones) on my car. they are exact replacements but there are differences with the wiring harnesses. if you buy a pair of the black SE tails make sure it comes with the wiring harness on the back because the one on your existing lights has 1 bulb that is a different size (i think)

just to clarify, you will need to replace the whole housing. you cannot buy just the outter black lense.

I think this clears it up for me. I was just wanting to swap the black plastic lense with the clear one that I have. It looked pretty simple and straight forward to me but I'm glad I asked first. I didn't want to replace the entire light fixture itself. Just the one piece of clear plastic (or whatever it's made out of) for the one piece of black plastic. Thanks for your help.

you might want to look into getting your lights painted if you dont want to do the switch.
