another race....

i was driving on the highway at about 80 and came up on a 4th gen max with aftermarket exhaust ,rimes and tailights.so we decided to play. i think he had a 5 speed because i saw his car drop when he down shifted and changed gears.we raced twice 80 to about 110.he lost twice.walked him pretty good both times. after we slowed down to normal speeds he passed me at full throttle .then i closed up the gap. the nerve of some people?

my old roommate has a 97 5spd with pretty much all the bolt ons. off the line he would spank me but from a roll it was less of a difference. he would always pull on me on the roll, (his gearing and less weights outweights my extra power) but it was much closer than from a light. he would drop the clutch and i would manually shift but i didnt torque brake.

Yeah the 4th gens just don't breathe well at higher rpms. The 2k2 I have now is miles better than my 95 5 speed I just sold. Much more power at all rpms and all speeds.

lots of us street race. it doesnt necessarily mean that i'm goin at it on the highway, swerving around people at 140 mph... i like goin quick off the line against someone, maybe to about 50. by that time, someone is winning, so it works for me. highway racing.... well if its wide open (NO cars around) then ok to an extent. like the other day when max and I got goin aroud 100... just enough to beat out the turbo talon. but there were no other cars on the road at all. still, i hesitate to do so cause high speeds is just askin for a removal of the license.

And also part of one of my favorite lines from a movie (surprisingly, from "Ants"). Right before he's about to smack someone, the guy says "Buckle up, spanky". Don't know why, but that kills me.
