got an avalon this time... SUUUUUUUUUCKY. i thought these things were supposed to be an upscale toyota. i like the camrys better. avalon's got a super-cheesy-detroit-acdelco-esque dash layout with a pseudo information screen in the center dash. crappy plastics quality and horrible tactile feel in the *****. everything's just so vague, i'm not sure if i'm actually controlling anything. center console design is pretty lame too. if you put anything in the cupholder, it more or less blocks the shifter and makes accessing the center storage areas really cumbersome. seat positioning is maddeningly limited as well.

on the flip side, its engine is butta-smooth and noise isolation is noticably better than my max, both from the engine bay and the road. very smooth in comparison.

but i'll take my max anyday. toyotas are the enemy of fun. if you guys ever doubt your car selection in a maxima (as i have when i discovered the quality of the paint, windshield, rotors, service dept...) then just rent a car in roughly the same price category. i for one, can't wait to get my car back.

 

phew! enterprise called me back. said they had and i35 for me. ditched work and got it.
