shift patterns.......

shift patterns.......

does shifting 1-3-5 or 2-4-5 harm the engine in any way? I'm mechanically challenged and don't too much about syncros...I sometimes shift in these patterns when not in hurry....

As long as you give the synchros time to do their thing, it should be fine. Just don't jam the shifter when shifting like this. Since you said you do it when not in a hurry, you're probably doing it safely.

Wow, that's an awesome site...I sure wish I had read some of the stuff on there earlier. I won't even attempt to describe synchro function when that site is available. Go there, it has nice explanations and interactive demos.
