Buying new wheels...again. Need some input

Any thoughts on these? I'm leaning towards the bottom ones. The problem is that they weight in at 27 lbs.

Are you looking for some performance? Because, those all weigh a bit much. Why don't you go for some SSR wheels, or something closer to 20lbs?

First off, I would choose the middle one.

However, I realise that you have a specific list of wheels but you also seem to want a reasonably light rim. So, I ask, what's your price range (if you don't mind me asking)? When I was looking for 18s, I had two mandatory requirements. 1) Must be 18x8 or wider 2) must weigh less than 20 lbs.

What I found was that the lowest cost was $1750 which included tires (the OZs I got). Having said that, what are your requirements? If you must have 18x8 (or wider) and a weight of 20-22 lbs say, what wbout the Volks GT-P?

or the Gram Lights 57 Pro?

Weight isn't a huge concern of mine. I'm not into racing at all, just some spirited driving.

My requirements:
1. 5 spoke design.
2. Machined/polished lip
3. 8" wide, 8.5" wide preferred
4. Cost around $1600 with tires, shipped.
5. Easy to clean (the bottom ones have a black inner wheel portion, which for me, is a dream come true).
6. Prefer shiny face, but not chrome- just polished or machined

I guess this wish list really sums up the fact that wheel #3 is what I really want. I found them for $1600 shipped, but am working on doing a price match right now.

I do like both of the wheels you posted, but they are too expensive for me right now. I'd rather have $1500 wheels and a $1000 body kit versus $2500 wheels. More likely, I would rather have $1500 wheels and a little bit of credit card debt.

These are both tempting, but I have issues with both:

Issues- Not machined, skinny spokes.

Issues- They are 19's, cost.

Gotcha. I would go with what your gut tells you man and from the sounds of it, your gut's been shouting at you.

For those of you voting for #2, is is because #3 sucks really, really bad? Or you just like #2 better?

in my opinion, #2 looks best out of all...I saw maxima with #2 rim(Similar) and looks really nice...but "gunmetal" though...how much are you willing to spend????? check this websitewww.iforged.com and look at the Wheel gallery...

Ummm.....$800/wheel is a wee bit more than I wanted to spend. Holy crap.

As a middle wheel selector (#2), my choice was between #1 & #2 because I didn't like #3 and that was because I didn't like the concave curvature of the spokes where they meet the outer ring (but that's just me). However, as I said before, go with what your gut tells you.

1 and 3 just arent my style. #2 looks alittle muscle car-ish, but I like them. I've also seen a pic with them on a maxima.. they look good.

black interior on 3 is cool, but the spokes aren't as cool as 2. 2 has a tapered spoke, which i really like.

that's my pick... they're all out of my budget tho.

Is it me or are your choices similar to what you already have? These would look sick on a white car

None of them are ugly (imitation Hamanns come close on principle) but your C5s looked far better than any of those choices. I think you can do better... keep those stockers and keep looking.

Have you considered used

SWEETSOUND2001 always has a nice selection on the for sale forum. You should at least call him and get some good advice.

Andy. What is wrong with your current wheels. All 3 of those in your 1st post look almost identical. If I were to buy any of them, i would get #3

In all honesty I think these are the way to go. your car will definitly feel faster with those on there. The rotational mass of your wheels can really magnify with each additional pound you add.

Maxima's are big cars especially our 5th gens. So number 3 have tick spoke similar to our current rims(u seen my car) rims. So my point is small spokes on big cars=looks out of proportion, wider spokes=nice and balanced
