H&R Wheel Spacers??

When installing 15mm (front) and 25mm (rear) wheel spacers, do they have to placed behind brakes or are they placed by the wheel hub? Is it a long/difficult process that needs to be done by a professional?

Don't know yet, you mad a good point regarding OEM wheels, but I think they'ld look much better if they weren't tucked in as much.

H&R doesn't make the spacers.....you can get spacers anywhere wheels are sold....

for starters I can tell you your balancing might *** up....u'll know as soon as you take it above 60..if the steering wheel starts shakin, then u got probs...

I had spacers on my Hyundai Sonata cuz the dude that sold me rims told me I needed em....all they did was *** my **** up!!! I took em off a block later

H&R does make spacers, the material they use is 70% lighter than what other companies use. Other org members have used them and haven't experienced any problems. I wouldn't get any other brand.

I dunno dude...all I know is...any 5x114.3 aluminum or steel spacer will do....just take off the wheels and throw them on underneath onto the studs...then remount wheel

if you want bro, I'll help you with it on a weekend

It doesn't work that way b/c these spacers are a bit wide, I was under the impression that they required more work.

This is a quote that I got off a web site :
Depending on model, axle, and year, Nissan vehicles have different diameters in the shoulder of the studs. The following list provides notes and measurements of the shoulder of the studs required for installation. The wheel spacers shown in the catalog will be supplied with shoulder bolts D=14.15. If you need D=12.85, please add a "1" at the end of the part number.

That thread doesn't mention any problems with the spacers.
P.S. Deven2kstick has some tight fukin wheels.

For H&R spacers, its quite a bit of work. You have to remove the rotors, calipers and OE studs to replace them with new studs supplied with the H&R spacers. That's the only way you can do it properly. I havent put my 15mm spacers on yet for this very reason. But, I've heard that the H&Rs are near the best so I guess its worth it.

It's a lot more complicated than that.

There are two types or spaces. One slides on behind the wheel. They are not hubcentric and could cause vibration.

The second is the H&R spacers. They replace all of the studs with longer ones and come with hubcentric spacers. If you know how to remove your calipers, then you can do this. If not, it needs to be done by a professional.

Tucked in wheels suck. I would go with the same combination too.

H&R Spacers are made of magnesium alloy and are very nice and very expensive compared to the POS ones you get from the wheel stores..People that have used the H&R have never complained of problems...I am just waiting for mine to arrive right now

H&R's wheel spacers

I just had mine installed by Jeff at Max tuning. The H&R spacers are the most expensive but are by far the best ones I've seen. If you are handy this will take a couple of hours to install. The 5mm ones do not need new studs the 20mm and 25mm do require that you replace the oem studs. You have to remove brake caliper, then rotor, and knock out the oem studs and replace with longer studs which H&R supplys. I use 20mm for the rear 5mm for the front. I have 18x8 rims with oem offset of the 17 rims, and the tires just about make it clear from fender well. On occasion the tires will hit the fender ever so slightly only on an extreme bump. The look is great. These are hubcentric which will eliminate the vibration you will get with other cheap wheel spacers. You get what you pay for and H&R's are expensive but for quality, and safety, look into purchasing these and if your not handy look for a pro to do it. $100 for 20mm $50 for the 5mm and around $80 bucks for the install.(From Optionauto) Actually he did a lot of other little things while I was there so $80 bucks was a great bargin. Jeff is the man for our cars. If you live in the Tri-stae area look him up. A true pro.

Does anyone know if 25mm spacers will work well in the rear? I'm really just concerned about whether or not the fenders need to be rolled.

25mm are perfect for the rear, someone else w/ eibachs had done it and experienced no problem. It brought the wheels out perfectly.

Great, just what I wanted to hear. One other question, H&R apparently offers studs with 2 different shoulder sizes, does anyone know which ones are for us? I believe the options are 14.15 and 12.x.

One other thing, I noticed that the 25mm spacers are DRM type which means the existing studs are not replaced as they are in the DRS application, but used to fasten the spacer to the hub, and then the spacer provides studs for the wheel. Is this correct and if so, is it really as easy as just taking off the wheel, tightening the spacer on, and then tightening the wheel on, or am I missing something b/c as it stands now, this seems to be a great solution if I plan on taking them in the winter time so the gravel doesn't get thrown against the paint as much?
