Re: got new strut bar tell me what u think

Seroiusly...u need some modification on that strut bar.

use a multi-purpose remover to remove that ugly "Otto Racing" and replace with a small stillen sticker then holla...u have a stillen strut bar

I was thinking about getting the same FSTB. Did you know any difference after you have installed the FSTB? Do you think it made the body more stiff giving it a solid ride? Is it worth the money?

Looks good. Uncanny how much it resembles Stillen's FSTB isn't it? Hehe. Are there any fitment issues? It clears the hood well? Doesn't pinch the washer fluid lines or anything? I've read before that some FSTB's can do this.

It is SOLID, just like the Stillen. I also have one, bought it off of E-bay for $58.00 including s/h back in October '02. Great bar and I do feel somewhat of a difference with it installed. The front end feels tighter and turn-in is crisper at higher speeds.

that is the same bar i have. exactly like the stillen bar, excellent mod for the price. no other bar compares to it in terms of cost and show appeal.

Damn, I overpaid for the stillen...that looks exactly like mine, and it even looks like it's polished better.

Looks great, but the pic doesn't show the ends of the bar where it attaches to the strut tower area...

are the ends rounded (i.e., complete circles) like the cheapo EBay bars, or are they tapered like a Stillen bar?

Is yours an auto or 6 speed? I heard they sit at different heights.

What tools/wrenches were required to perform this task (I am not very handy with tools).

Any instructions that I could give to a mechanic?

Thanks

Vic

Very simple.

1) Remove 3 bolts from each strut tower. (2)
2) Install strut bar. Verify clearance on manifold and hood before securing.
3) Replace 3 bolts from each strut tower (2) to 36 ft/lbs.
4) Drink beer.

It will take you no more than 40 minutes if you are VERY slow and methodical. If you race through it...more like 10 minutes. Good beginner mod to get your hands dirty.

Would be nice to have some good feedback on this.

There may be some relocation of brackets, etc. that will be necessary. I know this is the case on my AE.
