i want to take my center vent out to clean it, because it is sticking and that makes it hard to turn the little wheel to change the directions of the air flow. anyone know how to remove this thing??? i tried popping it off with no luck. i didn't want to force it.

The only way its comming off is with force. Dont be scared it shouldnt break. If it still doesnt work get a screw driver and shove it in on the right and pop.

Yeah, this thing is the biggest pain in the a$$!! Put your fingers on the bottom part of the vents themselves, and pull towards you and up a little bit. They are held in by little metal clips which are hella strong.

Force is required to take almost anything off on your car...Just be firm...get under both edgest with a prying device, slip your fingers in there, and slide your fingers up till you get pinched...Then pull up and out with that firm force and it will pop out...remember the first time you take anything off on your car, it will be the most difficult and stressful, but you sure will be relieved when you realize how easy it was

I learned that pushing up and pulling doesn't work. You need to get in the passanger side facing the rear, inserting your fingers in the 2 top slots and pulling up, once up they will stay up and you will pull it out. Sounds like you snapped something inside and it feels like your taking the entire dash with you. Just be careful not to break the top vent that you have your finger on. Chris
