Magnet Bra

I am thinking about buying the magnet bra for my max, but want to get some feedback from people who already have it. How does it fit? Ease of installation? Does it scratch or fade that section of the hood it covers?

Thanks

JR

I have it. I like it, I get complements on it and it fits well. Installation is cake. I don't think it will scratch your hood, but I'm sure the paint on your hood would be two tone after a while. I don't really care, I leave it on all the time even through car washes. Since the hood has so many chips, it needs to be repainted anyway.

that's for a '99 but that's who I got mine from. I'd recommend it. Contact him directly and he'll sell it to you 'offline'

I had the Magnetic Bra for a few monthes and I DON'T LIKE IT. First of all, I had a bit of trouble making it fit perfectly and finally used a heat gun to make it mold into place perfectly. Than going to so many car washes you better make sure you clean the edge because it builds up and creates a line with dirt.

I have a 2K3SE and think it looks better without it. I took it off and am probably going to get rid of it.

the instructions say to heat it for installation... why are you counting that against it?

and even they recommend taking it off every once in a while to wash the area so again, why is that a negative??

sounds more like you just didn't want to do required maintenance.

If you have a dark colored Maxima (black/blue), I don't recommend it. I had it for couple months on my black 2k2 and I ended up with small scratches and clouded paint under the bra. The damage was probably more obvious because it is a black car. I did follow all the directions, as specified by the manufacturer, so it wasn't because I wasn't careful.
Installation is easy and the fit is pretty good. Several people asked me if it required professional installation while I had it on my car, since it looks and fits so nice though.

Some people don't like instructions.

got hood chips???

i 've had mine for a year now and no problems.
no two tone color on hood.
my max is dark green. no scratches under it. if you put it on correctly and get a tight seal, you won't get debris under it.

it is a pain to line up. works best on a sunny day(hot)

i actually need a new one ,mine has got so many nicks in it .
just imagine the max paint w/out the bra. i mean i have a gouge in the bra itself. i cry of the thought what would have happened to my paint if it were not for the "magnet bra"

-that's a nice plug, huh? i should send that in.
can i get a discount???

if you got the $$$ go 3M
if not, best option= magnet bra. "and that's the bottom line"

Make sure if you store it for a while that you unfold the edges where it tucks under, and roll it up. Mine is about dead because it cracked along the edge where it was folded.
