Hood rattle question

I took my car for service, and while there I mentioned to the service guy that I had the problem with the hood vibrating at highway speeds.
He checked it out and agreed with me, but said that the mechanic did not advise to tighten the hod because it would make it out of alignment with the rest of the car (the fenders, I assume). Any of you guys that had this T.S.B done agree with this?. I personally think is B.S so I'm thinking of taking my car to a different dealership. Any opinions?

Try a simple fix first...the lamp pack 'weatherstrip' fix.

Contact DaveB (number can be found in FAQ's).

My hood was tightened and it is lined up perfectly. I haven't had the vibration since

They can do 1 of 2 things. They can follow the TSB and put that glue stuff between the hood and the hood frame.

They can also adjust the latch, so that the hood is tighter when closed. I had this done to my hood and it was fine. I also put the lamp packs on myself. Rattle is completely gone (Wish I could fix the loud sunroof too!)

Thanks for the info, I have not heard of the lamp packs fix before, can you give me info on how this is done?

Thanks jjs, I read the table of contents on the FAQ'S and did not see anything related to that.

He should be able to set you up for about $20.00. That and 5 minutes of work and you should experience a reduction in the hood 'flutter'.

It's not very exciting. It's just two strips of padded rubber, that you peel the back off of, and stick on top of the lights, where they meet the hood. I think it's supposed to make things a bit tighter, but it didn't do too much for me.
