So.. What was everyone's top speeds?
I went up to 145mph. Took forever doing it.

 

I've done 110. No radar detector so I'm a wuss.

I hit 125 in my old Accord V6 before chickening out. I have only gone up to 110 in the Max....

 

An indicated 140 on I75 just before Miami. The car was rock steady and was done before my mods. I think that's about all she'll do since the RPM's were around 6K.

130 before I caught up with traffic and had to slow down.

 

Mine is 226, 1 week after I got the car, with 2 guys in the car.


Oh, did I mention that that's 226 kilometers? 141 miles.

Oh, did I mention that I bought a demo with 3000 miles on it?

I don't like driving overly fast in a FWD car. Scares me much. That 130mph in the crx was the scariest thing to be in at that speed (suspension was tuned to be nimble...)</b>

well, i've hit 120 before i caught up with traffic...

 

I've done about 122mph in my Max when it only had about 880 miles on it (my friend who owns a new BMW3.28 was taunting me on the road and I just had to gun it a little) and I've done about 127mph in my dads'92 Camry that has an impressive grand total of 223,000 miles on it.

 

I wouldn't say it incriminates yourself. Unless you explicitly state where you did it (like some have done here) all I said is I did 110 and I don't have a radar detector. That implies I was on a public road but I have not stated that I was or wasn't. Besides, I don't think traffic cops are gonna be sending us tickets based on what we've claimed to do.

 

toped 2nd Gear at 68, 3rd at 103, 4th at 136. Got up to 140 in 5th and quit b/c of traffic. and yes my car will get to 136 (redline in 4th) in about 30-45seconds in 4th. Big risk, cops C U and U R done

My speedometer goes up to 140, so I can only estimate my fastest ever at 145+ mph. I found a long Texas straightaway on which to experiment. (Thank God, no longhorn steers nor Brahma bulls had jumped the fences in front of me: Just one giant s-m-a-c-k away from 2 tons of hamburger!) It took a long time to get up to that speed, and I don't think it had anything left by the time I got there. My car really didn't get loose, but I don't recall feeling well-planted, either. Drive careful, now. Y' hear?

hit the revlimiter...thought it was the speed limiter...
so i let off...
now im gonna have to risk it again to find my TRUE top speed.

Got up to 138mph on 285W in Georgia... Pretty damn cool, after awhile the cut lines looked like it was one straight line ..

 

i haven't gone back to try it after putting on my STILLEN sticker... who knows how much faster it is now!! 8)

And I was pushing it too! The car wouldn't budge past this. It just stayed at a steady 126mph (drag limited?)
