Bumper repair
Question for you guys. I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend use my mint Max. She came home to tell me that when she was turning into an alley, she hit a cement post, putting a cut in my front bumper cover! The cut goes clean through, meaning you can see what's behind the bumper. Does annyone know if this can be repaired, without having to replace the whole front cover? If so with what? Your help is appreciated. She wont be driving my car anymore!

Urethane is difficult to repair, you could try fiberglassing from the inside of the bumper and then bondo the outside to get it flush with the bumper. I think it would be better for you to buy a skin and just get it repainted!

Yep, just had a new one put on about a month ago. All the shops I called said they scould not warranty any work if it was a 'tear' they had to fix. Just went with a new one.

I just got my Max out of the body shop yesterday. My front bumper got a small hole punched in it in a parking lot (from a bumber hitch I think). About 2" x 1". Anyway, shop repaired it. Looks like new. Cost about $650 to remove and repair and repaint. It cost a little more because it is AE. I don't know what they used but it looks great and is guaranteed.

$650.

Seems a little pricy. I know around here I can get my front bumper painted for $250. That is with taking it off and putting it back on, now as far as repairing a hole

Just bumped into an old high school buddy tonight! He happens to own a body shop! He said he'll do it for FREE! My luck is turning around!
