its basically just adds shock/glass brk protection to the factory alarm (ie, shock/glsbrk sets off your factory alarm). me thinks its like $50. anyone done this yet?

No I haven't tried this particular alarm. However, I'm going to add an add on alarm from JcWhitney for $50 that provides shock protection and a siren. I'll post once I get it installed.
