Speaking of speed limiters, has anyone noticed that the top speed you can set the cruise control (at least on my '98) is 90mph? Not that you'd really want to have it on when driving that fast, but just for kicks coming back from Philly last week I took it up to 100 and tried to engage ("set") it. It slowed down to 90 and held there. Tried pressing the "accel" button, and it still wouldn't top 90 w/ the cruise engaged. Just an observation.

I had a car once that wouldn't let me set the cruise over 60. What a joke, if I'm not going at least 60 it means I am in traffic and can't use cruise anyway. I remember trying to set the cruise at 120 in my G20, and that didn't work either.

yeah its' a safety feature. and u can cheat the speed limiter by taking the car off o/d.. u'll squeeze a few more mph outa that.

Again the 3rd gens are better! LOL

my cruise stops at 94mph..

and yes, that's usually the speed I cruise at.. "normal" traffic flows about 80-85 on highways around here (4 lanes + low traffic = high speed)

The highways are usually like this too.. I hooked up behind a BMW 325 today, and we drove the 60 miles from Muskogee to Tulsa in under 30 min.. damn drafting helps! I used less gas at 125mph than I usually do at 90!

FYI: we only passed about 15 cars, and slowed down to ~90-95 to pass them..

not that I condone extreme high speed driving on open roads.. breaking the speed limit should only be done on a closed course, with all safety precautions taken.
