Brake light keeps coming on?

This only happens in the morning, but every morning, my emergency brake light keeps turning on. I drive stick, and it's not like I ever drive with my brake on lol, but why would this happen?

Check the fluid level in your brake reservior. Low fluid level can trip the light too.

Your brake fluid is low. That is all it is. I had the same problem.

Low brake fluid is an indication that your pads are worn down. Have them checked and replaced if needed.

The system is designed so that as the pad wares down, the fluid level drops accordingly. When the fluid is low enough to trip the light, it usually means you need or are coming close to needing brake pads.

Ok cool, thanks. I need new rotors anyway, so might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

However, if you have ever had fluid added watch out.

After a brake job, mecanics will often add fluid to the reservoir to top it up, even though you only did the front or the rear.

The problem comes when they push the pistons back in. The reservoir may overflow. The biggest problem is that brake fluid is very corrosive. You don't want this anywhere near a finished surface, like paint.

A good shop will pop the top of the reservoir and suck fluid out before pusing the pistons in.
