A Fun Day Of Mods...

So today, I started out by looking under the hood and seeing I have the **201 MAF instead of the **200 one on my 2K2. Sweet! 11/01 build date. So, I finally installed the GAB, if you can call it an install. Hacked the filter holder, hacked the elbow, put on the pipe, ran it to the splash guard.

Next, I drove to my local muffler place and put on my new Powertech 4" muffler (thanks to Kloogy for the idea). What a sweet sounds, not too loud with the stock Y Pipe and B Pipe but so deep....

Finally, I placed my orders for my new audio equipment. I ordered an Alpine 7894 HU to replace the stupid Bose HU, and an Infinity Basslink for the sub. I took out my Bose sub already, and this afternoon will be doing the rear deck fill with mattress padding and a lot of hot glue. I will leave the Bose grille on, and the port open to use as a bass port.

All in all, a nice day of mods. Next on the list will be to replace the 225/50 Craptenzas with 235/50 Kumhos. Still on the fence about springs and a rsb, I don't know about the installs on those. I am in SoCA, anyone want to trade bevs of choice to help? :-)

Sounds sweet. I have my PowerTech Dual 3.5" on order. How much did you pay for install? Any drone with it? I am so looking forward to getting/installing mine.

I also recommend the Kumho MX series tires. They are such an improvement for me. I went 235/45/17 though.

See I want the 235/50 to fill the wheel gap better. I saw comparing pics of 225/50 and 235/50 and liked the look of the 235/50. No drone on the powertech. Nice and growling btw 2 and 3k rpms. Having a little trouble with the shifting on my autotragic, don't know why. I"m gonna reset the ECU tonight and see if that makes a diff.

I'm pretty sure that MAF 201 is also a bad part #

you need 22680-AM600...thats the newest MAF and it doesn't crap out supposedly...

I believe that if you want to keep the same tire size with 235's you have to get 45... 235 50 is a bit taller than the 225 50... can throw off your speedo

How do you like the GAB mod? Can you hear and feel a difference?

No, 201 is the replacement they have been putting in 2K2s so I feel ok about it. the AM600 is the one that is going in 2K3s. Either way, my MAF is fine now so not worth worrying about.

No, 235/50 is within spec for the tire sizing calc, only 2.something difference I believe. Anyone know who had the pics of their car comparing 225/50 to 235/50???

Well the reason that I say that is because I believe the second number is a ratio of the first. So if you expand the tire width by 10mm, the ratio remains the same, so 50 on a 235 tire is slightly taller than on a 225. I believe a 235-45 is the same as a 225-50. Not that any of this makes any real difference, just discussion and something to keep in mind.

The 22680-6N201 will eventually crap out. It takes much longer than a 22680-6N200, but it will die. If you keep the stock air filter, you may not notice the problem. But if you switch to an aftermarket filter, be prepared to visit a dealer at some point in the future.

Where do I find my MAF #? (I can't search) Can you see it w/o disassembly?

I'm assuming I'm up to date since they did the hesitation TSB and didn't replace the MAF.

Thanks!
