Spring set-up?

Ok Guys - Yes it's probably a repetative post for most of you out there. But, I am a newbie and I am thinking about lowering my car - not for looks but for handling. I currently and will probably keep my stock rims and tires (will change 'em when they wear out). I have FSTB and RSB already. Question is...what type of set up should I go for and what is the approximate cost (materials only - I will worry about the labor)? I want to avoid the "cheap bouncy look and feel" like the old skool days where people simply cut their springs. Damn Accords and Corollas were bouncing up and down over every little bump.

1) Springs and stock struts, AND any additional parts needed.

2) Springs and aftermarket struts, AND any additional parts needed.

Please advise as I don't know **** about camber adjustments, etc.

You can email me at cmr72@hotmail.com.

Thanks all.

If you're going for handling I would recommend the Eibach springs with tokico blue struts from www.southwestautoworks.com Pretty even drop and increased handling.

I would go with Tein springs and KYB GR-2 struts. Tein gives (2.2)front and (1.6) back. I have Tokico blues with H&R and they are not that stiff for me at least. The Tokico does not absorb the shock very well, it seems like you're going to knock your teeth out over bumbs. But, H&R springs gives a very nice ride, 20%-30% more stiff than the stock. I am going to change to Tein and KYB GR-2 struts, because I want it lower and more stiff.

There is a group deal going for Tein

Maxspeeds (< $100) and KYB GR2's (< $300).
I have the Maxspeeds (1.8" drop front / 1.5" drop read after settling). I understand the GR2's are a nice match.

Modified KYB AGX struts from cattman.com and Maxspeed springs is what I have. More expensive struts, but great handling and the only adjustable struts you can get for the 5th gen max.

It seems like you'll be running the same set up like me and like studman in a few more weeks.
