My first kill with my 2K2! A modded RSX Type S! YAY!

I'll keep this short. First of all, I will lead with the typical street racing disclaimer. I shut it down as soon as I reached the speed limit. It was on a relatively open road with mild traffic.

A modded RSX Type S pulled up next to me at a red light with a passenger in his car- both looked like late high schoolers. He had super loud exhaust and was revving it like crazy at me trying to instigate a race. I pretended not to notice, but when the light turned green, I punched it.

I'm not sure if I just caught him off guard or what, but I pulled on him the entire time. I slaughtered him by at least 3 car lengths in a 0-60 run. Afterward he did a typical ricer flyby and took off.

I thought those cars were quicker. Was this a fluke? I mean, I really, really killed him.

They can't compete with the Max's torque. I don't know what he had, but I think those cars do a lot better on the highway.

LoL. So let me get this straight, u shut it down at the speed limit of 60? Haven't seen one of those around here! haha Those cars are semi quick, there is a video I watched of this Type S racing an IS300 and he beat the IS300 by a car length or so, so it doesn't surprise me that you KILLED it.

It was a fluke to win by 3 cars to 60. Should be about 1/2 - 1 car if you both had equal launches and if was a good driver at best. Plus he was modded so should be pretty close. Type S are no joke especially modded and on the highway. A 6spd max is faster but not by much. Go to the track and let us know your times and traps.

It wasnt a fluke a 6spd Max is more than 1/2 car to 1 car faster to 60 than a RSX Type S. Their 0-60 times are on par with 02/03 autos mid 6's and mid to high 14 1/4 mile times, whereas 6spd can drop into the low 14's stock easily and very low 6's to 60 mph. A few tenths of a second is more than a few car lengths at speed. Go to http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?threadid=75353 and you will see, they even have some threads about Maximas.

Um do you honestly think 3 cars to 60mph is only a few tenths? 3 cars to 60mph is HUGE. The Max had the jump no question especially since the typeS was modded and the Max had large/heavy 18's.

PS "Stock" 6spd Maximas can not run low 14's "easily" let alone consistantly. (especially with 18's)

Just because he kept the speed under the limit does not make it legal. I know here in Arizona, it is against the law to take off quickly from an intersection, burn ur tires, chirp your tires, rev your engine, entice another driver to race, or drive with the intent of racing. The more severe racing crimes can earn you 8 points on our 8 point scale. And revving your engine and burning out falls under the category of 'wasting a natural resource,' but ask me if I care. lol

I am guessing that this guy had basic bolt ons- exhaust, etc.

Yes, I beat him on the launch, but probably by a 1/2 car length. I still would have expected him to be relatively close, but through 2nd gear is where I really pulled away.

Also, I could clearly hear his exhaust and he was definitely trying the entire time.

Regarding the legality: Yes, it was mildly illegal.....but it was actually safe. By the time we exited the school zone, we were doing no more than 45 mph. [/bad joke]

I haven't been able to find an RSX... but last night Jordan was following me and I was head to head at a stoplight with a modded WRX. The guy kept revving his engine... but I wasn't stupid enough to try that one... like I want to prove that I can get smoked.

Funny thing is, 5 min later some guy in an Acura CL pulls up and actually wanted to try it off of the line... I sped up until I was 2 car lengths ahead and then let off... and he stopped trying.

1. Street racing is generally illegal and unsafe.
2. Flame wars are always a result of racing threads.

the wrx should take you no problem off the line. race one from a highway and you should def. win if your a 6 speed. ive raced one with my auto and won once, lost once on the highway.

If you race a Lightning off the line, it will outright SLAUGHTER a Maxima. If you race it on the highway, you will kill it... Lightnings are not a 'highway' vehicle... they are pure 1/4 mile killers.

Good kill.

One word: Torque.

Your quick launch and his passenger weight made the difference of 3 car lenghts to 60.
