is this a good price?

i totalled my 2002 so i reserved a super black 2003 titanium edition with black cloth, moonroof

no limited slip or leather

they offered to sell it to me for 25,900 at first then i gave them a paper add for a SE for 19,999 so they offered me the car for 23,000 before tax and tags. they said they added 3000 more cuz of moonroof and titanium edtion. should i try to lower the price more or take it?

Seems like a decent deal, but tax and tags are going to put you up over $25K.

you can do better than that... try 23500 w/ tax title and licensing included.

These dealers are dying to get rid of the 5th gen maximas to make room for the new 2004 maxima on their lots

also... isnt leather and bose required for titanium package ??

which dealer in MD? Dude go to edmunds.com and read about how to buy a car, and what is the invoice price. The invoice on 03 SE base is 23800, add 800 for sunroof, and whats a titanium? You got no BOSE, climate control, leather. Walk away if they dont sell you for 23K "on the road".

Prices seem to vary in different parts of the country, but that seems high for a car that's a year old, and has been replaced by a new model. If they started at $19,999 to match the deal, it should be <$1,000 for the sunroof, and the Ti edition gets you what - wheels, kick plates, and interior trim? That's worth the additional $2k?

Don't forget they're sitting on that car and paying money for it each month. Tell them that's too much, walk away, and see what happens. If they don't come back with something better, what's the downside? Two days wait (unless you believe they'll sell it in a few days)...?

Yup....$23K out the door and no more. See if you can even talk them into giving you the 100K mile warranty. Like NT2SHBBY said, the dealer is taking it in the butt everyday that car sits on the lot.

6 speeds are very very rare, i would say it is a good deal for a 6 speed and an alright deal for an autotragic

Here's the deal I got, I think you can do better.

03 SE Black on Black:

Leather
Meridian
Titanium
Sun Roof
TCS
Painted Mud Flaps

$24260 + TTL in Cali.

MSRP: $30620
Invoice (from Edmund): ~$27861
Saving: $3611

Got it on April 28th, 2003.

If you buy the car with Bose, be sure to ask them to put the new padding to muff out the vibration when low base is played (TSB01052)

Wow, that is a nice discount. How hard did you have to work them to get it? Did you have a trade in?

I looked at the same car (sheer silver one) last weekend in Northern VA. I was offered $23,500 plus tags/taxes/destination, which I thought was a poor deal. I was hoping to get out the door at $22,000, which after doing more checking is highly unlikely to happen on a titanium package. I went to another dealership, and offered $21,700 out the door for an SE with sunroof/floor mats and splash guards. No luck there either. Check invoice on Edmunds, which I think lists it as $25,400, plus sunroof and titanium, which are both about $800/$900 subtract the $2k incentive, assuming its still on, and then you have another $700 in dealer holdback to play with. If you can get $500 of that, you are doing well. I have decided its more than I want to spend, so I am looking for a 2k2. Some other members have reported excellent deals on leftover 2k3s, but I couldnt make it work in this area.

I didn't even negotiate that hard, I was looking for the titanium package and wanted a black exterior.

I was actually asked to leave at the first dealership when I offered $20400 for 03 SE w/ only sunroof.

Then at the second dealership I just asked for $7000 off MSRP and we agreed at the price reported above.

No trade-in.

Whole negotiation took 15 minutes - it was end of month at a slow weekday (I think that had a lot to do with it).
