I had everything lined up perfectly, but there was a small bubble right in the middle that wouldn't go away. I tried peeling up from the side, but all that did was stretch the hell out of it. I had to tear the whole thing off.

I e-mailed the company I bought it from for mercy, but I doubt they will do anything. Oh well, $70 down the tube. Live and learn.

 

Next time if you got another bubble, take a razor and cut a small slit right on top to release the air. Beats having to peel and re-apply

 

I actually tried a pin hole, but it was pure air with no liquid. It really didn't help.

 

O...sounds like you stretched the material out already...is the clear bra stuff really tough or is it just like vinyl?

 

It's like plastic kinda. Like the think plastic sheets you use to cover your floor when you paint your house. It's pretty tough.

 

Use a credit card and push out all the air/water before it dries next time. Also don't park it in the sun till all the water is gone, I'm not sure if my logic is sound, but it may develop bubbles like that as well

 

I installed mine yesterday, too. First time trying this. I did the 2 small side things first, as practice. As I was putting the hood piece on all I could think was "I hope I don't *** this thing up". Came out pretty good. A few very small spots, not sure if it's air or dust, but no air bubbles. It looks better this morning than it did last night.

 

Exactly why I am not about to try the clear bra... I'll stick with the OEM nose mask...

There were some bubbles in mine after I had it professionally installed. The ScotchCal plastic is breathable, so the liquid inside the bubble evaporated and then stuck down to the body without any sign it was ever there . . .

Sometimes it pays to have someone with experience do this, in some ways I think it is more of an art and less of a science.

If you try again this may help. The guy that did mine did a good job of creating a dust free environment and he clayed the front of the car then used a lot of alcohol and water solution in a spray bottle, I mean a lot, Then he could pull it up and reposition it till he liked the way it sat. Each time he pulled it up he used more spray. Then starting in the middle he squeegeed it out.
That was this time last year.

 

but dont let them get that alcohol solution on your HIDs... or they will be cloudy with a quickness.

I think the company will give you a break. You might have to send them the damage product first, but you should be OK.

I bought a clear wind deflector from Ventshade off of a Yahoo store. I am very happy to say that it works and looks great. I have a sterling silver 2K maxima with a few painful paint chips on the hood. With the clear deflector I wont be seeing any additional damage. Installation took about 20 minutes. I drilled 4 pilot holes to the underside of the hood. The holes line up very nicely and will not damage the top of the hood. The best feature it that you dont have to worry about the deflector ruining the looks of the car. I see a lot of black max drivers with the smoked deflectors.

The clear deflectors runs 71 bucks with shipping. Installs easily, and the best feature is the fact that its clear, so it will work with any color car you have.
