If you need a soft enough ride to handle 2-3 hour drives twice a week would getting a FSTB and RSB be too much? Would new springs be too much...I don't like the way the car feels in the twisties but it's nice and tame on the highway. Thanks in advance, this forum is great.

Excuse me? What's your question again? Too much as in price? I would say getting RSB is worth every penny that you pay. The performance incease in suspension is tremendous with just the RSB. And yes, you'll even notice the difference in handling when driving in the highway.

I did the RSB and FSTB first, and it did not change the ride any on my car. ANY of the lowering springs will change the ride-USE SEARCH. Its all in how much of a stiffer ride you can tolerate, but also how much you want the looks and handling of the car to improve. Did a 3.5 hour trip in mine last month, the wife did not even complain!!

FSTB and RSB won't affect the ride quality. If anything it'll increase the ride quality because you won't get that much body lean in twisties. If you want to keep a stock ride then get some H&R springs and get some KYB's and set them to a soft setting..
Re: Suspension
Sway bar and strut bar affects body roll when cornering, keeping things flat. Ride quality (bounce) is spring related. Lowering springs will stiffen things (softness of ride) abit depending on how far you want to lower it. Generally the lower you go the stiffer the ride.
I think you could also just replace the OEM struts with aftermarket KYB GR2 struts and retain virtually all of the stock ride characteristics with the exception of a reduction in the "floaty" feeling on the highway and more road feel over small bumps.
It's really what you are after and how far you want to go with it.
