Paint chips

I own a 2002 Max SE/24k. I have an unusual amount of paint chips (hood) for a car that is 1.5 yrs old. I am going to see the service manager at nissan this week with hopes of them repainting.
Any problems from you guys? How did you resolve the situation? I was doing research today and found out that I am not the only consumer with this issue. You check out www.maximapaint.com yet? Looks like a lawsuit is in the mix....
