Might Be Moving to Manhattan

Hi there,

Due to the passing on my loving pop, his apartment in the lower midtown side was left to me. I am considering moving there, but since my job is in queens (where I live now), I will definitely have to have my car. I could take my 89 accord with me and leave my max in queens, but as my dad always said (he was the one who told me to get the max) I should enjoy the max. Obviously my concern is the lights...

I checked with a garage, they said it would be about $250 a month. His apartment is in an area where parking on the streets is available. Most of the signs say no parking from 8am to 6pm, which I could probably work around my job schedule. The other streets have alternate sides. So parking on the streets is definitely possible.

I really don't know what to do. So I'll need your help.

Would you think the garage would be a better option than the streets? Money of course is an issue. I will be living with my fiance who while we earn decent salaries, if we can avoid paying that amount would definitely be great.

But I really don't want to have worries about the car. Please let me know your opinions.

Thanks!!

The $250 you pay for the garage will be worth every penny in the long run. It will give you peace of mind and your Max will still be in one piece.

You can park it on the street where everyone walking by can watch it for you. But it'll cost you a quarter for every 15 minutes.

I think your HIDs being stolen is the last thing you should worry about if you park on the street in Manhattan. People just can't drive in Manhattan, let alone parallel parking. Man, you'll be asking how to remove dings and scratches everyday. If your dad left u the appartment, then u shouldn't have rent so the parking is a no brainer to me.

I would definitely park my car in a garage living around that area. It's close to alphabet city, downtown. There's always ppl hanging around there till the wee hrs of night too..
