whoa... i dunno what happend... but this was what i wrote... sorry for the 3 posts... my internet got messed or something

I was coming back from a late movie around 1am and my foot was a lil heavy on the gas cause i just wanted to burn some rubber... but then this white audi tt starts to follow me then came up beside me. the speed limit was 35 and we were doing about 50 when he came up next to me and started to press on his accelerator on and off trying to get me to race him. i just waited patiently until he floored his tt giving him a half car head start then i floored my max and pretty much killed him. i passed him around 75 and got in front of him. when i hit 100 he was about 10 cars behind me. i wanted to have some fun so i slowed down and just played around with him for a while by slowing down and then accelerating when he tried to pass me until i got home. it was so much fun. by the way... i have a stock 2k2 auto. i showed this punk not to mess with maximas just wanted to share my story.

Wow - I don't usually have a problem with street racing, but did you just say you did 100 on a 35 mph street? That would be VERY uncool...

the tt is supposed to look cool not be fast. imho it is *** ugly and i am a audi fan at that.

the engine in the tt is the default passat 1.8T that is also used in later Jetta models as an option (2001+ i think). it maxes out at 180 + 20hp if hes chipped, and weights just over 3000lbs so i dont see whats the braggin right in this? see if you were a forth gen then yeah.. but 255hp.. go race an eldorado.

he(audi dude) fell victim to his own ignorance. those pseudo sports car owners.

The TTs are fast, that's why this 'kill' is hard to believe... and yes, "TT" stands for "twin turbo"... could have been an older one with the 1.8, yes, but the new ones have a V6 in them which would easily take a Max... and they are planning one with a small V8!

Maybe this will help: Dude, the race was totally rad, but crankin at 'bout 3x the speed limit is whack...

Or maybe an analogy will help. 35 mph speed limits are usually on roads with a high population density - i.e. lots of other drivers who aren't expecting someone traveling at 146 feet per SECOND. This would be similar to someone driving up your driveway at about 55 - any chance you might not expect that, and there would be a problem?

Anyway, haven't heard yet if he WAS actually doing 100 in a 35, so this might not even apply.

I ran a Audi TT coupe a few months back on the freeway here in Colorado. Altitude is about 6500ft where we played and I was able to keep right with him from about 70mph up to 120. We came up on traffic, so it was over, but the TT should have been a lot better off at altitude than my Max(auto). If it was a drag strip, he would have got about 1/10th and maybe 1mph on me(he was pulling very slowly in the early part of the race, but around 90 it was even).

why would it stand for twin turbo when its only single turbo?

only the new tt should give any 2k2 max a problem. the 180 hp and 225 we can beat.
