Stereo:
I switched my stereo to an aftermarket Head unit. After the switch do any of you get really poor radio reception. I almost get no recpetion after the switch. This has been like this on over 3 differnet head units and i cant figure it out. When i put my stock one back, it works fine.

Engine:
Whenever i drive, i get this high pitched whistle from my car. Anyone know what it is? It gets louder as i push the accelrator more. ie, higher the rev, louder the high pitched wistle...

are you sure the whislte is not through the speakers? It might be because your rca and power are together?

I'm assuming you bought the correct antenna adapter? If you did, purchase an antenna booster (I believe pep boys carries them). Works very well in my past experience, for about $20.

As for the high pitched noise, try and have someone rev your car in park while you listen to the engine. May limit down what part the noise is coming from....

i'm sure the engine is whistling... probably bring it in for check up.. As for the antenna booster, which part does it connect to? the antenna adapter is whatever the car audio shop gave me, but i know them and they told me its the car. I was wondering that the weak signal is from maxima's not having a true antenna, and just havin the back winshield film. anyone else?

It is not enough to just plug the antenna adapter onto the end of the antenna lead and then plug it into the back of your new head unit. There is also a wire in the wiring harness that boosts the antenna signal (it's a blue wire). If you haven't connected this wire to your new head unit, reception will be non-existent as you said. I installed two different aftermarket head units in my Max and both get clear reception with both the antenna lead and the additional booster wire connected. When I installed my first new head unit I had the same problem until I was told to connect that second wire. I have had no problems since then. The booster wire should be part of the wiring harnesses provided with the new head unit.

If you have any questions, PM me.
