1. What are some good brand names of Struts bars and where can i get the best deal on them?
2. Why do you need strut bars or why would you want them?
3. How do the Sturt bars effect the drive? Like is it better on corning?
Thanks In Adavnce!

Take it from another noobie... you can do a forum search on "ftsb" or "strut bar" and pickup a ton of good threads on this topic. Jeepik even has a great thread showing his new otto ftsb on the front page.
Then try a search on rsb or "rear sway bar". You'll appreciate it.

And alot of people have answered this so many times, they don't feel like doing it again.

OK... here's a breakdown on FSTBs:
1) Stillen http://www.stillen.com sells one for about $170
OTTO has one for $60 at http://www.procarparts.com
OBX has one for $100 at http://www.obxracingsports.com/perfo...=3&subcatID=17
Courtesy Nissan http://www.courtesy-nissan.com no longer has them available
and you can pick one up on EBay for about $15 to $20.
If you want one (Courtesy Nissan style) for $20, contact SPEEDY6 on the Org and see if his is still available.
2) Strut bars help tie in the front suspension to aid in performance, specifically in cornering.
3) Strut bars are 2nd best in affecting cornering and performance. The best thing to get is a RSB and combine it with an FSTB.

Yeah.. what 255HP_03_SE said.
I've spent the last couple of weeks researching for my first mod purchase. I'm getting the otto fstb from procarparts and the progress rsb from cattman.
You'll get a million valid opinions on which manufacturer to go with. I've read good reviews about fit and performance on these two parts and they are priced pretty good. I've also only read good things about the stillen parts, but you pay a premium for the stillen name/reputation.
A stock maxima likes to lean the wrong way in the turns... like driving a motorcycle with an inexperienced passenger onboard. These mods are designed to flatten the car out while cornering and give a better steering feel.
Hopefully the search is functionable soon. There is a ton of helpful information on this forum.

or you can go on ebay, save urself a **** load of dough and buy one that does what every other one does at half or less than half the price...$13 for it and it works great, steering is tight and it fits good and it doesn't hurt anything in the engine bay...
unless you want to waste the extra $160 or so and get a stillen one...
but if you like throwing money away, give it to me!

I can live with the fact that I paid $50 for my g/f's OBX FSTB and I paid $60 for my OTTO.

What are the differences between the two? Is either one adjustable? Does either one provide a method of "locking" the bar in place when the hinge bolts are tightened? Thanks!

The OTTO and OBX are fully adjustable.

What about some type of locking mechanism at the hinge points? Locking washers, etc. . . ?
