Re: Custom Maxima Racing Straight Pipe

Yes, I had a custom straight pipe...no resonator. It was loud as heck. I had it replaced with new resonator. Didn't notice any differnce in power either way. It was just loud. Too loud.

My car is too slow...

I have one....

but no other exhaust mods. With no other mods, the pipe is pretty useless. No increase in sound level, no HP gain (well, maybe 1hp) I believe it will be of value when I upgrade my exhaust (y-pipe and cat-back) Couldn't pass up the deal on it, though.

FYI, driving on a public road without a catalytic converter is a federal offense, and carries a large fine if you are caught. As others have stated, little or no performance difference. Not worth the potential hassle.

It's up to you really. Make sure you buy the installation kit. Because you will need it.

I got one just like that and it's gutted. So it looks like there's a cat but there isn't .

There is no doubt a HP gain with this pipe. A noticeable gain and noise level was slightly increased.

With this pipe installed and straight through muffler, will you get a poping sound when letting off the gas pedal when slowering down.. I hope you understand what i'm trying to say..
