Spark plug question (SplitFire or any others)?
I'd say the consensus is DON'T! Just use the nissan(NGK) plugs. You engine can go 100,000 miles on em with normal use. I'd say take em out at 50 or 60K and clean em. There is some talk of this "denso iridium" plug but I wouldn't mess. Save your money for real mods. Get an intake for 99 bucks at courtesy nissan and bam....5hp! Thats power you can feel...esp at high rpms. The 2k+ max engine responds wonderfuly to the intake and y! Around 12hp to the wheels.....thats SIGNIFICANT!

Has anybody changed their spark plugs to SplitFire or any other type of non-conventional spark plugs? And if so was there a noticable HP increase?

splitfires are only good for "regular" cars
I had put Splitfires in a 1991 Stanza that I used for commuting, when I was tuning it up. It made a significant difference in the calm of the idle, the gas mileage, and the power. But, that was just a 2.4L, 12 valve nothing special 4 cylinder engine. I NEEDED any help I could with that. When it comes to your Maxima....I don't know about this 100,000 mile spark plug deal that car companies have been barking about for a few years now, but I definitely don't think it's worth it to throw them into the Maxima. There are lots of better things you can do that will significantly change the performance of your car other than measly spark plugs. But just ask these other guys what these mods are, because I sure as hell don't know! HAH HAH HAH
the cheapest price i can find on densos is $12 each...multiply that by 6 and you get $72...plus shipping etc. you will probably pay a little under $80...are the densos worth this amount of money? do they do that much?

I currently have the Bosch +4's in my Stanza right now. It did nothing for the car. The idle is rougher though but the only thing I noticed is that it starts up quicker when the weather is warm.I was close to putting the +4's in my Max a couple of months ago but luckily I read the posts by other members on this board recommending that they shouldn't be used.
